Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's for Car Show Registrants

What happened to the paper registration forms?  I don't want to pay online, so how can I pay by check?

We know change is difficult. This year we are transitioning the hundreds of registrations to be streamlined via online.  There is an option during your registration Checkout to pay with a check.  After submitting your registration you will have seven (7) business days to either snail mail or drop-off your check at the office.   The pending order will automatically cancel if payment is not received after 7 business days from registered date.  Should this occur, then you will have to repeat the process again.

We have a Car Club/Friend and would like to be in the same area or parked next to them. Can you arrange that?

In order to get everyone in and parked quickly, there will be no reserved parking and cars will be parked in the order in which they arrive. If you want to park next to someone or a Club, you must arrive together to park together!  No spaces will be saved, other than those reserved for our Sponsors' cars.

Do I have to be present during the Best Of Trophy Awards?

Winner of Trophies must be present to receive their trophy immediately, or have a designated representative to collect it at the time of distribution, or forfeit the trophy.  We cannot mail the trophy after the event, because by then, our car show coordinator is burnt out and she is taking a vacation.

What are the definitions for the 'Best Of' Awards?

Stock - Restored to original factory specifications.

Modified - There is a deviation from the original factory specifications.

Muscle - Intermediate sized high performance model powered by a large V-8.  Must be only factory high performance engine (i.e. Buick GS, Chevelle SS, Charger R/T, Torino/Cobra, Olds 442, Pontiac GTO)

Pony - Mustang, Barracuda, Camaro, Firebird, Cougar, Javelin, Challenger.  Basic stock car, all engines, all options with minor upgrades/mods.

I have to cancel my Registration/my car broke down/I got sick/my dog is sick.....can I get a refund?

Unfortunately there are no refunds given, however we will accept if you would like to transfer your registration to a friend and they can pay you for your spot and you can provide them your ticket.  Please just let us know of the changes to be made for their information to be accurate.

If there is inclement weather that day and I don't want my car or myself to get rained on, can I get a refund?

The show goes on rain or shine! There will be no refunds.  Come prepared *weather* (get it?) you need tarps, an umbrella or sun screen.

My car will be in the show, and I also have a business that I would like to promote.  Can I do both, and set-up business stuff at my spot?

Sorry, but no.  It's not fair to the Sponsors & Vendors who have paid fees for their company or brand to promote at the show.  If you would rather be a Sponsor or Vendor that is displaying their car, then we can make accommodations for you.  Just contact us for more info.  If we find business promotions being displayed, you will be charged a fee.

FAQ's for Spectators

What are the parking options if I want to come view all the cars & vintage trailers, enjoy the live entertainment, eat good food and shop at the Downtown businesses and the vendor booths?

There are several options:

  1. Park at the San Clemente High School parking lot and take a FREE shuttle that will be running all day to Ave. Del Mar street and back.  Shuttle times are from 9:00 am-4:00 pm.
  2. Park at the Outlets at San Clemente and hop on a San Clemente Trolley that will be making it's stops all around Downtown San Clemente.  The City has partnered with us  to accommodate an alternate route that will make stops on Cabrillo, Calle Seville, Victoria and El Camino Real that will get you close to the car show action.
  3. Park at SCHS parking lot or the Outlets and take a Lyft or Uber to Ave. Del Mar & El Camino Real.

Is there an admission fee?

No, there is no fee for spectators.  Public parking is free, except for the meters located near the SC Pier area.

Can I bring my dog?

Of course!  But be a good dog owner and BYOBags and clean up after your pooch.  If you do bring Fido, be sure to stop at Three Dog Bakery for a lap of water and a complimentary doggy treat, or buy some do-do bags. Due to the large crowds, if your pet is nervous then maybe keep them home this time.

Is this a family-friendly event?

Absolutely it is.  Bring the entire family down to see all the cool cars and the vintage trailers.  There will be live entertainment by a great band that everyone can dance to.  Some of the vendors like Taxpros+ have really fun activities at their booth like a wooden car race that is always a hit with the kids.

Can I bring my own booze?

Sorry, no.  But there will be a Beer, Wine & Mimosa Garden provided by H.H. Cotton's located right next to their restaurant where you can enjoy a refreshing libation.
